DESCRIPTION:PURPLE ist eine vierköpfige Band aus Wien mit internationalen Wurzeln und vielfältigen musikalischen Einflüssen. Gegründet 2021 von Maxi Nagl und Noah Sarich\, komplettiert von Schlagzeuger Paul Peschke und Bassistin Rocky Wilhelm. Die Band feierte Erfolge: zwei EPs („Love To Leave“\, „SOBER“)\, Airplay auf FM4 und ByteFM\, Platz 3 der FM4-Charts mit „FANCY GLOVES“ (Jänner 2025) sowie Platz 4 bei der Planet Festival Tour\, Österreichs größtem Bandwettbewerb. Zudem spielte PURPLE u.a. beim Nova Rock Festival\, Popfest\, im Gasometer\, in der Flex Halle sowie bei einer EP-Release-Show im Flucc Wanne. Aktuell steht die erste eigene Tour an: Graz\, Klagenfurt\, Salzburg\, Kirchdorf und Wien (Radiokulturhaus). Der Sound entwickelt sich stetig weiter; die Liveshows gelten als elektrisierend\, die Bühnenpräsenz als laut und charismatisch. DESCRIPTION:The workshop will take place on two dates: \nNovember 12\, 2026\, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. \nDecember 3\, 2026\, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. \nPerformance art is considered one of the most complete and radical art forms\, as it emerges from the meeting of visual and performing arts\, and beyond. Drawing its background from the Dada movement and Antonin Artaud\, and reaching artists such as Marina Abramović and Romeo Castellucci\, this art form creates space for artists characterized by a restless spirit and a strong desire for experimentation and deeper exploration. \nMore specifically\, performance art explores the body through improvisation in relation to space and time\, as well as physical and psychological limits\, and the expression of what cannot be said with words but is conveyed through the encounter of bodies and gazes. The performer’s body becomes the living element of a work of art presented before an audience\, which plays a crucial role in shaping the final outcome. \nFurther information about the workshop schedule and program: \nFirst day 12.11\, 17:00-21:00 \nThe workshop will begin with: \n\nbody exercises: the poetic body\, the suspension of rational control\, the release of expressiveness\, and the exploration of physical and emotional limits\nexploration of the senses\nvocal exercises and the discovery of sounds emerging from the body\nthe use and symbolism of objects\, digital arts\, and the visual thinking of self-direction\n\nAt the end of the workshop\, there will be an introduction to Aeschylus’ Oresteia\, including text analysis and role distribution. \nThroughout the workshop\, there will be references and material related to key milestones in contemporary art history and pioneering artists\, aiming to broaden participants’ perspective and enhance their way of observing art. \nSecond day 3.12\, 17:00-21:00 \nWorking on the Oresteia \nParticipants will present the performance they have prepared\, along with their ideas and interpretations of their roles. The project will be completed through a collective composition\, connecting and further developing these ideas. \nabout the play \nKing Agamemnon returns from Troy. His wife\, Clytemnestra\, kills him in order to avenge the sacrifice of their daughter\, Iphigenia. \nIn the Libation Bearers\, their son Orestes\, with the help of his sister Electra\, avenges his father by killing his mother. \nIn the Eumenides\, Orestes is pursued by the Furies for committing matricide\, but he is eventually put on trial in Athens and acquitted with the intervention of the goddess Athena. In this way\, the cycle of bloodshed comes to an end\, and personal revenge is replaced by the justice of laws. \nMain themes we will focus on \n●Domestic violence \n●Women in power and patriarchal society \n●Democracy\, justice\, and gender \nPossible Third Meeting – Performance Presentation\nDepending on the participants’ commitment and the time needed to prepare the performance\, a third meeting may take place. This session would include a public performance presentation followed by a discussion with the audience\, creating space to share and reflect on the collective experience. \nabout Themida Jo \nThemida Jo studied theatre directing at the National Theatre of Athens and is a graduate of the Higher Drama School Praxis 7. She has also attended visual arts courses at the Morfes Art School and has knowledge of art and theatre history.
